We're proud to have picked up our first Cannes Lions award, a Silver Lion: Media for Justice4Grenfell. This powerful campaign, created by BBH, brought the names of the 72 Grenfell Tower victims back into the news on the third anniversary of the tragedy.
On behalf of the organisation, which formed in 2017 to fight for justice on behalf of Grenfell Tower victims and survivors, the media strategy was to focus on national newspapers to bring the issue back into the news and reignite the conversation. Newspapers donated column space in print to remember the people who lost their lives. The names created a typographical tower to serve as a memorial for those who died and a reminder that the community is still seeking justice.
The campaign was also amplified through outdoor media companies such as Ocean Outdoor, Open Media, Jack Arts and London Lites also donated poster sites across London to display the tower of names. Locations included Wembley, Kensington, Ladbroke Grove and Holland Park, all close to Grenfell Tower.
This campaign was created by Ben Edwards and Guy Hobbs at Bartle Bogle Hegarty London. We’re closely following the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and proud to have been BBH’s media partner.
